Laser hair removal works by targeting the pigment within the hair, heating the hair follicle and cauterising the blood supply. This means the hair will fall out and not grow back.
However, laser hair removal is not the complete elimination of hair growth as our bodies are continuously creating new hair follicles. Due to this, you may find that you need to come for 'top-up' sessions every 1-2 years to remove those new hair follicles.
This follicle renewal process can be sped up by conditions such as PCOS, the menopause and pregnancy or by certain medications such as hormonal therapies. This may mean that you may require more regular sessions as your bodies are creating new hair follicles quicker.
Patch tests are required prior to starting treatment.
Initial treatment courses are around 6-8 sessions. For your face, these sessions will start of every 2 weeks. For everywhere else, these sessions will start of every 4 weeks.
You can either pay-as-you-go or pay a fixed monthly fee for 12 months and get unlimited treatments in those 12 months.
